The Meaning

.. .. .. Y C C C I O ?     .. .. .. Y C C C I O !

“Ycccio” stands for Young, Capable, Creative and Curious with an International and Open mind.
The name we’re looking for will convey this meaning, together with a strong sense of future.

Who are they? Really, what is an “Ycccio” ?
They are the children and teenagers of the Generation Global who can - and will - contribute to a better future if they have the opportunity to. They have the talents, the minds, the interests, the creativity and the innovative willpower to make the most of their abilities. They do not necessarily have the education, the means, the horizon, the access and the chances. Not yet anyway.

These kids kick into gear with the suggestion that the world is waiting for them, that they are welcome to come and see, to learn and experience everything the globe has to offer. Like any other age group they enjoy getting fresh ideas into their minds, new environments open extra dimensions of what is possible!

Ycccios are defined by the potential of their intellect, their talents and their personality:

They should not be defined by the way-too-many hurdles holding them back from putting their abilities to good use - for themselves and for the world at large. They are not be be defined by their nationality, their religion, their parents’ income or social status and not by their education. Their “self as an ycccio” comes from within.
By giving them a name that spells “potential, hope, ability, power to create” they can feel understood, valued and supported. The connection with kindred spirits world wide - based on a  shared strong identity - provides a healthy and much needed sense of self confidence.

It’s our job to deal with the hurdles. It’s the new name’s task to provide the rock solid foundation on which these kids, regardless of their background, can build the future on.
Because it has a meaning with substance - the combined substance of talent & character.

Who isn’t an “Ycccio”? Aren’t all kids full of wanderlust, curiosity and desire to achieve ?
Not really.
 
J.K. Rowling used the truly descriptive expression of “wilfully unimaginative”.
Non-Ycccios are the ones that can’t be bothered, the kind of folks who prefer immediate gratification to the efforts of accomplishing a goal, the people who “don’t mind foreigners as long as they stay where they belong”. To them “different” is the same as “wrong”, they are the school yard bullies. Non-Ycccios have no motivation to utilize their talents if there is hard work involved, they feel no need to share - neither ideas nor knowledge or material goods - and whilst they feel no hunger they see no reason to feed others.
There are many of them.
Which is why we must not allow them to take the wind out of the true Ycccios sails.
