A Quest for a Name or Can we coin the perfect Term ?

.. .. .. a good word, strong and dynamic

“Ycccio” is a working title. As an abbreviation it gives a statement about the children and teenagers it wants to represent. However, the young people it stands for deserve a much stronger, a much more descriptive and convincing term. A term that is powerful enough to convey the potential of their generation, of their own power to change the global future and of our individual responsibility to educate them with heart and brain.

Why a name is needed at all?   First of all, because of ...

.. .. .. Identity

A name creates identity. Without a name there are only descriptions or pictures. People, places, things, ideas, ... anything: to communicate we need a word for them, just like advertising needs brands for focused identification. Or vice versa, for that matter. That’s why good quotes are so important too, they sum up in a sentence or two what’s in people’s hearts but not on the tip of their tongues.

Identity allows to be identified - “who are you ?”, it also paves the way to identify with others - “who are WE?”     The name we are searching for encourages this identification, it will be a WE-word.

.. .. .. Intuition

Please visit “The meaning” and “The message” to get a deep understanding of this quest for a name. Contemplate the potential force behind these kids and the difference they might make - world wide - if and when they realize their own “Yes, we can” power. And then consider “The criteria” which are the key elements of the due diligence process towards the end of the evaluation, they do matter. Most of all, think of this new name, this term for such a special kind of “human resource” as something that wants to be grasped intuitively. Put your gut feeling first, then let it go through all the rational steps afterwards.

.. .. .. to illustrate, some arbitrary examples - creating household names

“Yuppies” is a term dating back to the eighties, meaning Young Urban Professionals. Yuppies, their social life, their trend following habits and their - for many too superficial - party lifestyle were soon associated with specific brands and behaviour patterns but also with success orientated hard work.
“Lohas” - meaning “Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability” - is a bit younger in origin and also the result of an abbreviation. As a lifestyle and way of thinking it will prove to be much more than a trend. Lohas are a fast growing element of society.
“Hip Hop” - music, fashion, philosophy all in one today, evolved etymologically from hip (in this context as in smart, bright, switched on) and hop (as in jump to the music). Reading up on Hip Hop directs the attention to people like Kevin Donovan aka Afrika Bambaataa of Zulu Nation fame. His story is the classic tale of how travel and exposure to other cultures and ways of thinking can change someone and bring out talents that may have remained undiscovered forever otherwise.
“Bushism” - well, we must never misunderestimate the power of language !
